When it comes to shareholder perks some companies keep additional benefits firmly behind a 'pay wall' of sorts. It is understandable in some situations when the perks could end up costing the business tens of thousands of pounds it is difficult to extend this to everyone who owns a single share.
This is actually something we found ourselves experiencing. We were going on our honeymoon and as we were getting excited about our cruise, we realised that the cruise line itself offered a rather handsome discounts for shareholders!
The shareholder perk itself was a few hundred pounds of room credit to be used onboard! What a perfect addition to our honeymoon we thought. Unfortunately, it transpired that the benefit was actually only for people who owned a large number of shares, tempted by the chance to invest in a reputable brand we debated it and looked at the share price only to realise that to achieve this we would have had to invest ten of thousands!
We understand why, but it made us think... are there shares out there that will provide great benefits with only having to buy one share? It turns out there are! Some of them are better than others, but it really depends on what you were looking to get from a shareholding.
So, we take a look into all the shares you can get from owning a single share!
